There are several methods you can employ in order to get your brand mentioned on other websites. An important factor to consider is the nature of the website as well as its publishing policy.

Some websites offer the ability to contribute content, others ask you to pay for a featured article and some are of a more social nature and content is exclusively contributed by the users.

These are just a few examples, but let’s see some more specific cases:

  • Post questions/answers on Q&A Websites
There are some really popular websites, like Quora.com and Stackoverflow.com where you can register for free. Users ask questions there which could be like asking for something that your service/product provides. You can help them by answering those questions and offering your solutions. However, a word of caution! You should never give answers that are blunt advertisements of your offerings as they will be considered spam and not favored by the users. You must write the most comprehensive answers and offer them alternative solutions, and don’t be afraid to even share things about your offering that might mean that is not suitable for them. This will add much more credibility to your answer.
  • Guest blogging
Guest blogging is a great way to boost brands on important websites and get more and more people to visit your brands’ websites to learn more about you. Many websites and blogs accept articles from external contributors, as long as the content is interesting to their viewers and the articles offer significant value. So, you can search inside the websites listed above for the ability to contribute. It could be written somewhere on the website or you could contact the webmaster or the content manager and ask them about it. You will need to have some sample articles to show them, and they will certainly not accept advertising articles. So, you should write about something that would be interesting for your industry. In many cases, they will be positive about mentioning your product/service/brand within the article if it contributes to the content. Worst case scenario, your name will be featured along with your brand in the author section of the article!
  • Listings
There are many websites, usually industry-specific where you can list your business. Maybe some are in the above list. Usually, you can easily find a link within those websites to register your business. For example, in the Software industry, there is G2crowd, Capterra, and many more.
  • Existing articles
Maybe in the list above, you will find articles that describe competitors to your product. If these articles contain many solutions, they might be interested to add your offering as well. To try to do this, you can either contact the author directly or alternatively, you can add a comment below the article if it offers a comments section.

These suggestions cover some of the most popular options for featuring your brand on other websites. This is a very effective form of boosting your brand equity, and sometimes can even result in direct sales!

Please mind that it usually takes time to make this work, but the results can be enormously important for your brand.

So, don’t waste time, start visiting these websites and try your best to get featured in there, I guarantee it’s worth the try!
